Three short (very short) Birthday poems for the over 60's
by Mary Baum
(Surrey England)
Beware should you be tempted to drop a year or two
Lest your children start complaining - that they're just as old as you!
If your body's in good order,
And your mind is at its best,
Then what's another Birthday?
For surely you are blest.
But if your body's stiffened,
Or your mind has lost its wealth,
At least it shows you're normal -
And like everybody else!
You're always having Birthdays,
As far as I can see,
So why is it you never seem
To catch up with me!
