May We Present...
by Joanne Hayle
We’d give you the bumps
But you’d just get the hump
You could have had a cake
But to be honest we don’t bake
You’d like a glorious bouquet
But you’d sneeze at the pollen on display
We’d pour out champagne or wine
But you’d grab the bottle, shriek MINE!
We’d decided on a big box of chocolates
But now you’ve said you’re on a diet
Last chance, perfume, a light scent
But you’re getting that from your gent
So, when all is truly said and done
Here’s a card, but a present...
There isn’t one.
