Ballet Birthday Cake

It's my daughter's Birthday and I made her a birthday cake. She is a dancer and I made her a ballet inspired cake. It is a two tier fondant cake with gumpaste ballet slippers, gumpaste name plate and fantasy flowers.

The top layer is a butter cake from Martha Stewart which I love. Recipe link below: I added 1/3 cup of raspberry seedless preserves to the batter with a touch of pink food coloring. I also made a basic confectioner sugar buttercream and added seedless raspberry preserves. Wilton has a recipe for a basic buttercream recipe.

The large tier on the bottom is 3 tiers and I used Hershey's Decandent Moist Dark Chocolate Cake recipe with one tier being Martha Stewart's Butter Cake in between. In this butter cake layer, I added crushed oreo cookies about 1 cup. I made a filling of buttercream and crushed oreo cookies and layered in between the cake layers. I frosted the cake with Hersheys's Dark Chocolate Frosting Recipe.

I covered the cake in Marshmallow Fondant that I tinted lime green. I added a zebra ribbon around the cake for a modern youthful touch.
